Claire Cresswell's Knead Me Massage
My name is Claire Cresswell; I have worked as a Sports, Remedial, Medical and Indian Head Massage Practitioner since 2001.
****At the moment (JAN 2019) I am not taking on any new clients I will continue to review and renew this.
I qualified as a Sports Massage Practitioner in 2001 and received my training in London at the London School of Sports Massage. Since then my clients have included The Brighton and Hove Rugby Club, Burgess Hill Football Club, London Marathon, the London Triathlon, Mid Sussex Triathlons, Microsoft Challengers’ Trophies and I worked for fourteen years with the (wonderful) long established Physio Therapy Centre in Haywards Heath, which I still recommend to. 2019 sees me continuing to work on a full time basis. The work is split between a part time contract working for 10 worldwide tournaments travelling with the WTA allowing me to have very genuinely the best of both worlds in working for them and at my home practice in Hassocks, West Sussex.
I have completed my four qualifications/courses this year, for my CPD & competencies with WTA ~ so if you fancy having: Tsuboki Japanese Foot Massage which includes working through 33 acupressure points and 6 meridians on each foot, some Myofascial (Dry) Cupping and some Orthobionomy (Counterstrain) work or want to know any details about these exciting NEW treatments that I am looking forward to doing, please email me ...... [email protected] The fourth course I took was is in Dec 2018 on Dry Needling, I look forward to start to treat from mid January 2019.
I have a practice at the back of my house in Hassocks, and work full time. I also work as a Core Massage Therapist with the WTA (Womens Tennis Association). This work provides exclusive treatments on the elite female tennis players and has me working around the world for 10 tournaments a year with them. As with all my work its a huge privilege. The techniques I use vary according to specific need and range from gentle to deep soft tissue massage to soft tissue release (STR). I have also completed a course in 2008 on medical massage (AMMA) that allows me to work in conjunction with Physiotherapists, Surgeons, Chiropractors, Acupuncturists and General Practitioners. This was a 3 year course and allows me to safely and professionally treat/massage patients that have diagnosed medical conditions and work with referrals from local GP’s and medical consultants.
I love the variation in my work and enjoy providing the best possible treatment for each individual. My clients come to me with a vast range of needs - sportsmen/women, those with very specific special or medical needs, day to day injuries or problems and those that simply require a relaxing massage to help calm the stresses of daily life.
I am CRB registered and treat children that are aged 11 years and older with parental accompaniment. The Governing Body that umbrellas my professionalism in Sports Massage is the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists as an Associate Member.
On a personal level, I have always been very involved in sport and have completed many Half Ironman events. In 2011, I represented Great Britain at my second IronMan in Roth, Germany (2.4 swim/112 mile bike /26.2 mile run). I live with my wonderful husband Tim and enjoy spending time with my huge family. When I'm not working or triathlon training, my interests include reading, gardening, time with my big family, walking, and travelling. This year my husband and I are going to do a triathlon in sardinia, visit Dubai and celebrate being married for 22 years.
